On Saturday 10 February, the first day of the Chinese New Year 2024, the second of The World Games (TWG) 2025 Twelve Monthly Fairs kicked off at the 53rd Chengdu International Panda Lantern Festival in Tianfu Joy Park to entertain the public while getting them involved in TWG sports.

Festive activities such as Wushu competitions, a lion dance performance, lantern riddles and band live shows took place on the site.

TWG 2025 Twelve Monthly Fairs, a series of activities derived from Chengdu's traditional custom Twelve Monthly Fairs featuring a different theme each month, provides the public with opportunities to experience sports featured on TWG 2025's programme and gain a more comprehensive understanding of The World Games. This second fair will last until 24 February.

A lively lion dance performance kicked off the fair in the park. Visitors then joined in powerlifting, tire workouts, sandbagging, rope skipping, tug of war and other games with coaches to enjoy the fun of sports.

As the dazzling lights of the lantern festival lit up the night, champion coaches introduced and demonstrated to the audience sports such as Sambo, Kickboxing and Muaythai, which attracted massive applause.

From 7 to 17 August 2025, the 12th edition of TWG will take place in Chengdu, which will be the first time that TWG have been held in the Chinese mainland.
