Second of TWG 2025 Monthly Fairs Ends on Chinese Lantern Festival
The second of The World Games (TWG) 2025 Twelve Monthly Fairs wrapped up in Tianfu Joy Park, Chengdu on Saturday 24 February, the day of the Chinese Lantern Festival this year.
The second monthly fair starting from 10 February featured fun outdoor activities such as experiencing TWG sports and guessing lantern riddles, which immersed the public in a sports feast lasting 15 days.
As the last day of the Chinese New Year, the Lantern Festival is a typical traditional festival in China, and guessing lantern riddles has been a unique and cherished custom of this festival for thousands of years. At the Chengdu International Panda Lantern Festival, where the second fair shined, visitors were offered chances to win gifts by solving lantern riddles while enjoying eye-catching lantern shows to soak up the festive atmosphere. The lantern riddles were all about the Chinese New Year and sports including those at TWG.
At the event site, TWG sports such as Sambo, Muaythai and Kickboxing made a brilliant appearance on the stage in turn, which received cheers and applaud and attracted many visitors to getting involved.
