Tug of War Exhibition Matches Held in Chengdu
On Friday 23 February, 42 teams consisting of around 500 participants played Tug of War exhibition matches at Dong'an Lake Sports Park, Longquanyi District, Chengdu, in a bid to promote the sport and create a mood for The World Games (TWG) 2025.

Tug of War requires fitness, teamwork and great endurance. On the site of the matches, all the players pulled the rope tight, and none of them wanted to lose the grip.

"This event is very meaningful, not only to feel the charm of sportsmanship but also to have more understanding of The World Games. I'm so looking forward to the arrival of The Word Games to be held in Chengdu next year," an enthusiastic player said excitedly.

Also, players experienced other TWG sports such as Archery, Korfball and Flying Disc as well as some intangible cultural heritage items of the local community with great joy.

Ten of the 35 sports at TWG 2025, including Air Sports, Archery, and Cheerleading, will be held in Longquanyi District, which covers parts of the southeastern suburbs of Chengdu City.
Next, the district will continue to hold a series of fitness activities featuring TWG sports to stimulate the citizens' enthusiasm for the international multi-sport event.
