The World Games 2025 Chengdu (TWG 2025 Chengdu) revealed the slogan "Boundless Sports, Countless Wonders" and the mascots Shubao and Jinzai at a press conference on Tuesday 6 August in Beijing, China, as part of the one-year-to-go celebrations.

The Organising Committee of TWG 2025 Chengdu received 3,749 slogans and 1,924 mascot creations from all over the world. After a thorough review, the final slogan and mascots were selected. Official uniforms and merchandise have been meticulously designed based on the selections.

"The slogan for The World Games 2025 is 'Boundless Sports, Countless Wonders.' The Executive Committee considered a sporty feel, Chengdu's unique style and international communication to select a widely representative and recognised slogan," introduced Xu Xingguo, Deputy Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's Government and Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of TWG 2025 Chengdu.

The designs of Shubao and Jinzai, the mascots, are inspired by the giant panda and by the golden snub-nosed monkey from Sichuan Province, where the capital city Chengdu is located. These mascots have been created to raise awareness about rare animals and biodiversity protection, aligning with TWG's commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.

"The design of the mascots is inspired by Chengdu's famous animals and plant, intangible cultural heritage textiles and unearthed cultural relics with profound historical significance, which are delicately rendered together," explained Xu Xingguo.

Shubao, the giant panda mascot, features Chengdu's city flower, the hibiscus, in its inner ears, and Jinzai, the golden snub-nosed monkey mascot, has ears transformed from artifacts excavated from the Sanxingdui site. Their attire, woven with Shu Brocade, one of China's four famous brocades, depicts lucid waters and lush mountains, and the cultural pattern on it embodies the Sun and Immortal Birds Gold Ornament, a symbol of China's cultural heritage.

At the press conference, TWG 2025 Chengdu also unveiled the uniforms for staff, Games volunteers, city volunteers, technical officials, security personnel and traffic support personnel. These uniforms echo the logo design and incorporate three iconic Chinese symbols: the giant panda, the hibiscus flower and the Chinese knot. The fabrics used are sunscreen, quick-drying, lightweight and practical.

Meanwhile, the first batch of official TWG 2025 merchandise will be available online starting late Wednesday, featuring over 100 new product debuts. Highlights of this release include the Seed Badge Blind Box, joint-branded badges for TEAM CHINA and TWG, commemorative Twelve Scenes of Chengdu badges, city-themed cushions, etc.
