On 10 August, the eighth of The World Games (TWG) 2025 Twelve Monthly Fairs was in full swing in downtown Chengdu, drawing crowds to celebrate the upcoming global event.
Coinciding with the traditional Chinese Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day, this fair included a variety of themed activities. In the evening, as the lively beats of traditional Chinese music filled the air, masters from the Chengdu Wushu Association took the stage. Their powerful kicking techniques, precise strikes and fluid movements captivated the audience, earning rounds of enthusiastic applause.
The official TWG 2025 mascots, Shu Bao and Jin Zai, made their debut on 6 August to mark the one-year countdown, and this fair featured a special photo zone designed for visitors to snap pictures with these two beloved ones, adding to the excitement.
This fair also offered the chance to participate in on-site competitions where attendees could win exclusive TWG 2025 gifts, further enhancing the festive atmosphere. Visitors could also take part in interactive activities for Wushu, Billiards Sports (Pool) and Gymnastics (Aerobics), both of which will be on the sports programme set for TWG 2025.
Throughout the event, excellent Wushu and Pool players as well as Aerobics athletes wowed the crowd with their impressive, professional skills, leading the audience to fully experience the joy of TWG sports firsthand.
