In September, Chengdu Youth Amateur Sports School announced the recruitment for the city’s first-ever Parkour team, sparking public interest. The programme, which offers a beginner’s class for youth aged four and above, saw nearly 30 sign-ups in just a few days. This marks the addition of a new team to the city’s sports representation, reflecting citizens’ growing enthusiasm for this emerging sport.

The World Games (TWG) 2025 Chengdu is expected to further boost public interest in Parkour. The event will feature Parkour competitions on 12 and 13 August 2025 at Xinglong Lake Hubin Arena. During the fourth of TWG 2025’s Twelve Monthly Fairs, a series of Parkour activities took place, showcasing the city’s passion for the sport. On 12 October, the National Parkour Championships concluded in Zhejiang Province, where athlete Teng Gaozheng claimed the title in the Mens Freestyle category. Teng, who participated in a Parkour competition in Chengdu last year, expressed his hopes of representing Team China  at TWG 2025 in Chengdu.
