The IFF Men’s World Floorball Championships (WFC) 2024 took place from 7 to 15 December in Malmö, Sweden. Switzerland beat Slovakia for the 5th place at the Championships, earning the last ticket to The World Games (TWG) 2025 Chengdu. It will join Canada, the Philippines, Sweden, Czechia, Latvia, Finland, and China in Chengdu next year for the Men’s Floorball competition.

Sweden have won the past two TWG events, where floorball has been an official sport and they will be chasing their third TWG gold in Chengdu.

Czechia also managed to secure their spot in TWG 2025 after winning the quarterfinal against Slovakia. Their final placement in the TWG 2022 was third place and now they will get a chance to improve that result next year.

Latvia made history by breaking into the Top 4 in Malmö and making sure fifth place is not in their radar anymore. They got more reasons to celebrate after they also secured their tickets to China. At TWG 2022, they drew against Sweden and won against Switzerland. In the end, they finished fourth but 2025 will give them a new chance for a better result.

Finland got the second last spot in TWG 2025 after winning their quarter-final against Norway. Back in 2022, Finland played in the final against Sweden and took home the silver medals.

Switzerland have taken part in TWG before as in 2017 event they got silver and in 2022 in Birmingham they got the 5th place.
