After the successful events held in the cities of Bazhong and Leshan, Sichuan Province, the Travel with The World Games (TWG) series has now arrived at Tianfu International ACG (Animation, Comics and Games) City in Chengdu. From 3 to 5 January, the event showcased an extraordinary fusion of TWG, Fashion, Sport, Animation, with Chinese elements, creating a vibrant cultural experience.
As one of China’s most dynamic cities in the animation industry, Chengdu is renowned nationwide as the "City of Animation". Tianfu International ACG City in Chengdu, the largest animation-themed park in southwest China, has become a popular destination for animation enthusiasts and fans from across the country since its opening in 2024. The exciting fusion of Chinese-style animation with TWG injects new cultural elements into the forthcoming global event.
On the evening of 3 January, as night fell and the city lights began to glow, the rhythm of music filled the air. Laser lights cut through the night sky, and the entire park was transformed by stunning light and shadow effects. Under these dazzling lights, a group of passionate Latin dancers started to perform, treating the audience to a truly unique and mesmerising visual feast.
"I hope The World Games 2025 will be a great success!" and "In 2025, I wish everyone good health and happiness!"—these blessings appeared on the big screen at the event after guests gathered to share the collected wishes of citizens in anticipation of the Games. This initiative not only invited attendees to contribute their aspirations but also extended New Year greetings to the wider public.
The event also featured a Chinese-style animation exhibition, showcasing the perfect blend of traditional and modern animation styles. This exhibition invited all animation fans to join in the celebration, dressed in their finest outfits. Additionally, the metaverse Chinese-style exhibition, featuring AR and VR experiences, offered attendees an immersive journey into a world of creativity and technology.
Furthermore, the event introduced an exclusive animation-themed Orienteering competition, which proved both fun and exhilarating. TWG sports, including Archery, Flying Disc, American Football (Flag Football), and Billiards Sports, were featured in interactive experiences that attracted many citizens to participate and enjoy.
By incorporating elements of TWG, Music, Animation and Fashion, this event served as a spectacular New Year’s music festival, with cutting-edge lighting and shadow technology. The combination of these elements created a truly unique atmosphere, offering an exciting preview of what’s to come in the lead-up to TWG 2025.
