Chengdu Rural Sports Games Reach Community in Eastern New Area with TWG Sports

 

On 6 January 2025, the Chengdu Rural Sports Games, featuring The World Games (TWG) sports, made their way to the Shibandeng Subdistrict in Chengdu’s Eastern New Area. The highlight of the day was an exciting Tug of War competition, which saw eight local teams compete.

 

The event began with a TWG Tug of War workshop, where professional coaches introduced the sport’s origins, explained the rules, and shared essential techniques like team positioning and pulling skills.

 

After an intense competition, the team from Gaoshan Village emerged as the champions of the Tug of War.

 

In addition to the competition, a dedicated TWG sports experience and promotional zone allowed villagers to explore the history of TWG. With the help of volunteers, residents learned about the mascot, emblem, and slogan of TWG 2025 Chengdu. They also had the opportunity to try out other TWG sports, including American Football (Flag Football), Flying Disc, Baseball-Softball, and Archery.

 

 

To further encourage local sports participation, the Chengdu Municipal Sports Bureau donated a batch of sports equipment to the subdistrict following the event. This initiative aims to provide residents with more opportunities to engage in sports and foster a vibrant TWG atmosphere in Chengdu’s rural areas.
