Harbin Welcomes TWG 2025 with New Merchandise Store
As the 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025 (Harbin 2025) draws near, an official licensed merchandise store for The World Games (TWG) 2025 has opened in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, contributing to the festive atmosphere in the lead-up to the Games.
On 20 January, the merchandise store for TWG 2025 in Harbin opened on the city's iconic Zhongyang Street. The store, which covers more than 1,000 square metres, operates as a "store-in-store" model, blending seamlessly with the official souvenir store of Harbin 2025.
Harbin successfully held the 3rd Asian Winter Games in 1996 and is honoured to be granted the privilege of hosting the event once more in 2025, earning the title of "Two-Time Host City of the Asian Winter Games". Chengdu, which successfully hosted the FISU World University Games in 2023, will also play host to TWG 2025. As the countdown to Harbin 2025 begins, TWG 2025 is proudly presenting its official licensed merchandise store in Harbin, further enhancing the city's vibrant atmosphere ahead of the Games.
The second-floor marketplace of the merchandise store for TWG 2025 features a variety of products celebrating both TWG 2025 and Harbin 2025. Visitors can enjoy unique photo opportunities with the mascots of both events: Harbin's Binbin and Nini, inspired by the endangered Siberian tiger and designed to incorporate elements of traditional folk culture and intangible heritage, symbolising "Harbin Welcomes You". Shu Bao and Jin Zai also have their own photo zone, giving fans a chance to engage with the symbolic figures of both Games.
At the store's opening event, China's Speed Skating legend and the first torch-bearer of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics torch relay, Luo Zhihuan, was invited to share his personal stories. The store features a "Two-Time Host City of the Asian Winter Games" Memorial Hall, complete with a backdrop honoring China's ice-snow sports heroes. Luo enriched the event's cultural significance by sharing his remarkable experiences with attendees.
Both Chengdu and Harbin are renowned historical and cultural cities, famous for their hospitality. The two cities are set to bring the world together through sport, offering a glimpse into China's dynamic modernisation and creating a platform for global cultural exchange.
