On 19 January 2025, the countdown to The World Games (TWG) 2025 Chengdu passed the 200-day mark, with the second batch of countdown clocks unveiled at key locations in the host city, including Chengdu East Railway Station and Dong’an Lake Sports Park. The first batch of countdown clocks was introduced in August 2024 at Tianfu Square, Taikoo Li Chengdu, and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.

In total, three batches of countdown clocks will be placed at major transport hubs, key roads, and city landmarks across Chengdu, serving as a striking symbol of the city’s anticipation for the global event.

Standing 2.5 metres tall, these clocks are provided by the International World Games Association (IWGA) partner Tissot. Designed by an alumnus of the Maryland Institute College of Art, the installations draw inspiration from the TWG 2025 emblem while incorporating elements of Chengdu’s renowned cultural heritage, such as motifs from the Jinsha Site and giant pandas. The emblem’s hollowed-out structure allows light to pass through, creating an aesthetically intricate visual effect.
