China's Powerboating Team Starts Training for TWG 2025
On 9 January, China's Youth Training Team for Powerboating arrived at the Haitang River Water Sports Centre in Sanya City, Hainan Province, to commence a 15-day winter training camp, fully focusing on preparing for The World Games (TWG) 2025.
"All athletes are champions from various clubs, cities and provinces across the country. Our sole objective is to see the Chinese flag raised and the national anthem played at TWG 2025," said Fan Zhixiong, head coach of the training team. This winter training camp features 18 athletes and 9 coaches, with an average age of 20 and the youngest participant being just 15 years old.
"Hainan is blessed with year-round warm weather, making it a surfing paradise tailored for us!" said Chai Xin, a member of the training team from Heilongjiang Province, who frequently travels to Hainan Province during the winter for competitions and training.
A representative from the Haitang River Water Sports Centre highlighted the venue's strategic role as a key node in the water transportation system of Haitang Bay. Equipped with facilities such as paddle board docks, yacht piers, and a coffee centre, the venue provides an excellent training environment and comprehensive support services for athletes. "We are committed to ensuring all necessary resources and support are in place to help these aspiring athletes reach the podium," the representative added.
