TWG 2025 Countdown: TWG Space Launches with Sports & Culture Experience

On the afternoon of 28 February, with the 160-day countdown to The World Games (TWG) 2025, the TWG Space Launch Ceremony and TWG Class Promotion Event debuted at the R29 Community Living Space in Jinjiang District, Chengdu.

 

 

The event commenced with a captivating performance that creatively blended Sichuan Opera, a recognised item on the national intangible cultural heritage list, with Kickboxing, one of the official sports of TWG 2025.

 

 

TWG Space consists of three key sections: Urban Micro-Scenes, TWG Mini-Classroom, and Cultural & Art Exhibition. It aims to introduce TWG culture and its sports to the public, allowing citizens to gain a comprehensive understanding of the event while fostering a strong TWG atmosphere. Chengdu will select 30 locations across the city to establish TWG Space.

 

 

The first TWG Class invited members of the public to try out competition sports such as Floorball, Archery, and Roller Sports under the guidance of professional coaches. Participants quickly got hands-on experience, learning the basics with expert support.

 

 

In the interactive area, attendees unleashed their creativity by painting on Flying Disc, incorporating the essence of Sichuan Opera's Face-Changing art into vibrant designs.

 

 

"This event is fun and engaging! I had the chance to try Floorball, and I also learned about many TWG sports I have never heard of before. I'd love to try more if I get the chance," said Ms Zhang, a local participant.
