TWG Sports Spice up Chengdu's Campus Vibes

On Monday 17 March, Longsheng Hope Primary School in Jintang County, Chengdu, was bustling with excitement as it hosted the launch ceremony for promoting The World Games (TWG) 2025 Chengdu sports on campus.

 

 

Professional coaches brought demonstrations of Flying Disc and Gymnastics (Parkour) which became highlights of the launch ceremony.

 

 

Zhou Jingang, the principal of Longsheng Hope Primary School, noted, "For a rural school like ours, opportunities to experience emerging trendy sports were few and far between. Introducing TWG sports to the campus can give children a chance to engage in internationally-flavoured physical education, which broadened their horizons."

 

 

"I've heard of The World Games before, and it's very exciting to experience the sports myself today. I love play Flying Disc because we can play together. I can't wait to see more events like this!" said Li Hanxi, a student from the school.

 

 

The promotion plan aims to popularise knowledge about TWG, hold competitions of TWG sports, train PE teachers and coaches, build school-based TWG teams, and organise cultural exhibitions related to TWG.

 

 

The plan is expected to engage over 1,000 schools and reach more than 1,000,000 individuals across Chengdu and nearby cities, fostering both youth participation in TWG sports and a city-wide fervour for the event set to take place this summer.
