IWGA President: We Are on the Fast Train to 7 August
José Perurena, President of the International World Games Association (IWGA), expressed his satisfaction with the preparations for The World Games (TWG) 2025 during his latest visit to Chengdu, China.
On 30 March, Perurena attended the closing ceremony of TWG Series 2025 Chengdu and, on behalf of the IWGA, presented Chengdu Eastern New Area with the title of "Outstanding Contribution Venue for TWG Series."
"It's high-quality for The World Games Series, with a similar quality of organisation for The World Games, because the venues are fantastic," said Perurena. "This is the fast train we are on to the 7th August. I am satisfied with the conclusion of the meeting. More importantly at this moment is that we live together with all the athletes and the referees. I've received the feedbacks directly from the athletes and the athletes are very very happy."
Speaking about the city, Perurena remarked, "Our philosophy is to integrate the athletes into the life of the city. The athletes may compete for two or three days or four days. And other times, they'd have the opportunity to walk in the streets."
