Team China's Korfball (Beach) Set for TWG 2025

On 2 April, the selection trials for Team China's Korfball (Beach) pre-training squad for The World Games (TWG) 2025 came to an end at Sichuan YouthSports Center in Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. After fierce competition, 14 candidate athletes demonstrated the youthful energy and determination of China's Korfball (Beach) team.

 

 

The two-day selection process saw candidates face a series of challenges, including beach shuttle runs, moving shooting, and timed target shooting. Additionally, they demonstrated their tactical execution and teamwork skills during the simulated match play. Those selected for the pre-training squad will have the opportunity to represent Team China at TWG 2025 in August, where they will showcase the competitive spirit of Chinese Korfball (Beach).

 

 

TWG 2025 will be the first time Korfball (Beach) has been included as an official discipline. Last season, Team China achieved impressive results on the international stage, securing a spot at TWG 2025 at the IKF World Beach Korfball Championship 2024, and later finishing fifth at the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Asia) 2024.

 

 

"TWG is not only a stage for athletic competition but also a platform for transmitting the spirit of sport," said a project leader from the General Administration of Sport of China.

 

 

With the Panzhihua selection concluded, the candidates now shift their focus to Chengdu for the final preparations ahead of TWG 2025. Let's look forward to what's to come!
