Team China's Canoe (Marathon) Picks for TWG 2025 Announced
Recently, the Chinese Canoe Association announced that Zhou Yuexin and Ding Shengkai will represent Team China in the Canoe (Marathon) events at The World Games (TWG) 2025.
At the 2025 National Canoe Sprint Championships (1st Leg) held in the late March, Zhou Yuexin swept the gold medals in the women's single kayak 1000m and 5000m events.
In the women's single kayak 1000m final, Zhou displayed remarkable paddling strength right from the start. With a steady paddle frequency and precise rhythm, she surged ahead, finishing nearly two boat lengths ahead of the second-place finisher to claim victory. In the 5000m event, she further showcased her superior physical stamina and tactical execution, executing a decisive surge in the final 500m to clinch the gold in 24 minutes and 15 seconds.
In addition to the 2025 National Canoe Sprint Championships, Ding Shengkai also achieved remarkable success at the 2025 National Rowing Championships (1st Leg) held in Chengdu, dominating the men's single kayak 5000m to claim gold.
Both athletes are set to represent Team China on the international stage, with their outstanding performances setting high expectations for TWG 2025.
