International Praise for TWG Series 2025 Chengdu: A Promising Prelude to August

Following the successful conclusion of The World Games (TWG) Series 2025 Chengdu, the Organising Committee of TWG Series 2025 Chengdu received a heartfelt letter of appreciation from José Perurena, President of the International World Games Assoication. The Executive Committee of TWG 2025 Chengdu also received a warm note of thanks from Claude Azéma, President of the World Pétanque and Bowls Federation and the International Federation of Pétanque and Provençal Games.

 

In his letter, José Perurena extended his sincere gratitude for the “impeccable execution” of the event, held from 28 to 30 March at Chengdu Sport University. “From the spectacular opening ceremony to the outstanding organization of the competition and the remarkable hospitality extended to athletes and guests, every aspect of the event was truly commendable,” he wrote. He also emphasised the significance of the series as a vital preparatory stage for TWG 2025. “This event provided a valuable opportunity to test various operational aspects,” Perurena noted. While acknowledging a few minor areas needing attention, he expressed confidence in Chengdu’s readiness, stating, “We are well on track to delivering a truly remarkable edition of The World Games 2025 in August.”

 

 

Claude Azéma praised Chengdu as a “great city” and expressed his admiration for “the quality of the organisation and facilities.” He also highlighted the professionalism and warmth of the staff who accompanied him, noting their “exceptional kindness and a remarkable spirit of initiative.” He concluded with best wishes for TWG 2025 and shared his anticipation for returning in August.

 

 

These remarks from international sports leaders underscore Chengdu’s strength in hosting high-level global events. The TWG Series earned widespread recognition, with many athletes sharing their memorable experiences on social media—posting medals, scenery, and local cuisine—expressing their fondness for the dynamic Chinese city.
