All teams in the group stages will play three games each before proceeding to the quarter-finals stage.

After training and scrutineering on August 12, the group stage action will occur at the Jianyang Cultural and Sports Center on August 13 and 14.

The quarterfinals are scheduled for August 15, with the semi-finals and finals set for August 16.

Hosts China will face Iran first in the women's competition, with both teams set for their first-ever appearance in Canoe Polo at TWG.

Canoe Polo was first part of TWG programme in 2005 in Duisburg, Germany.

Along with Canoe Polo, Dragon Boat and Canoe Marathon competitions will be held at TWG 2025.

“We are pleased with the official Canoe Polo draw for The World Games 2025 Chengdu,” ICF Canoe Polo Committee Chair Greg Smale said.

“There are many interesting match-ups in the group stages, with reigning women’s World Championships gold medallist New Zealand taking on traditional powerhouse Germany.

“The teams and players are all excited and so are we. I am sure Chengdu will put on a show come August.”
