Travel with TWG Series Meets Dragon Boat Festival
The Travel with The World Games (TWG) series will continue from 29 to 31 May at Chengdu City Concert Hall in Wuhou District, following its successful stops in Bazhong City and Leshan City. Celebrating the traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, the event fuses the vibrancy of music with the dynamism of sport, offering citizens a fresh way to engage with TWG 2025 Chengdu.
Four Highlights You Won’t Want to Miss
1. A Crossover of Sports and Music
The event will showcase a unique combination of traditional music and modern sport, including a performance where the suona, an iconic Chinese wind instrument, meets Wushu in a display of both strength and intangible cultural heritage (ICH). Other musical highlights include Sichuan dialect rap blended with erhu (a Chinese two-string instrument) melodies, and community sing-alongs.
2. Turning the City into a Playing Field
A five-stop urban challenge course will integrate Parkour and other TWG elements with city landmarks, turning the Chengdu City Concert Hall and its surroundings into an open sports arena. Visitors can also enjoy hands-on experience with TWG sports such as Boules Sports, Korfball, and Kickboxing in a themed experience zone.
3. Traditional Meets Trendy for a Festive Lifestyle
Celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival through immersive cultural experiences: learn to make a limited-edition TWG zongzi—a traditional Chinese rice dish prepared for the festival using time-honouredtechniques, or craft herbal sachets and colourful wrist cords with TWG-inspired elements. A themed marketplace will also feature ICH cuisine, creative musical merchandise, and interactive tech experiences, offering a vibrant holiday outing.
4. Music and Sport for Everyone
A special “Sing a Song for TWG” challenge invites everyoneto take the stage and share their passion for the Games. A three-day outdoor concert series will also feature pop bands, electronic folk fusion, and street dance battles, welcoming all to celebrate through rhythm and movement.
