Chengbei DanceSport VOC (Chengbei Gymnasium)
As Chengdu’s and indeed Sichuan’s first comprehensive sports venue, Chengbei Gymnasium was constructed in the early 1970s and is recognised as the birthplace of DanceSport in Chengdu. Not only did it host the first gold medal event of the Chengdu FISU World University Games, but it subsequently staged the 11th and 12th WDSF DanceSport Festival alongside the 2024 WDSF World Breaking Championships.
During TWG 2025 Chengdu, the venue will host three dancesport disciplines: Latin and Standard competitions from 8 to 9 August, and Breaking from 16 to 17 August. Over the course of 16 sessions and 50 rounds, a total of four gold medals will be awarded—one each for Standard and Latin, and two for Breaking.
A total of 48 Latin couples and 48 Standard couples will compete, alongside 16 male and 16 female Breaking athletes – including Liu Qingyi, women’s Breaking bronze medallist at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
As for its post-Games ultilisation, the venue will be handed over by 17 September for the staging of the 13th WDSF DanceSport Festival.
