Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone Venues Ready for TWG 2025 Chengdu
Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone has posied for The World Games (TWG) 2025 Chengdu to be held next month. Hi-Tech Zone Sports Centre will host four sports: Wushu, Powerlifting, Squash and Racquetball; Guixi Park will stage Flying Disc (Disc Golf).
Hi-Tech Zone Sports Centre Public Fitness Gymnasium
This venue will host the Squash events from 8 to 12 August and the Racquetball events from 13 to 17 August.
To ensure resource efficiency and sustainability, the functional upgrades focused on repurposing existing infrastructure across levels 1-3 of the venue: reconstructing basic infrastructure for competition office spaces, upgrading power supply facilities and equipment, constructing glass courts, spectator stands and referee stands for Squash and Racquetball, installing sports audio systems, and upgrading lighting systems.
Hi-Tech Zone Sports Centre Gymnasium
This venue will host the Powerlifting events from 14 to 17 August and the Wushu events from 8 to 12 August.
As a facility that has previously hosted multiple international sporting events, the gymnasium already features relatively comprehensive infrastructure. The modifications primarily focused on upgrading power and low-voltage electrical systems, as well as improving fire protection facilities.
Guixi Park
This venue will host the Flying Disc (Disc Golf) competition during 8-10 August.
To enhance convenience and comfort for both participants and spectators, the modifications within the park involved preparing temporary outdoor structures, including prefabricated cabins, marquees, tents, and prefabricated toilets; upgrading electrical systems; renovating HVAC systems for fire protection; and completing car park demarcation.
